Kids in Kenya has benefitted from innovative use of surplus conference materials.

Ms Pauline Browne-Cooper, founder of the Kids in Kenya project gave a brief address to Canberra Rotary International on Monday 3 May.

Ms Browne-Cooper founded Kids in Kenya after traveling on safari in East Africa in 2004.  At that time she  was struck by the appalling conditions in schools and the fact that children and the schools had practically no resources.  Since that time Ms Browne-Cooper has spent her time gathering support for needy children in Kenya.

In relation to her presentation, the International Service Committee (on behalf of the RCC) presented Pauline with a a package of goods to take with her when she travels to Kenya on 1 July.

The package contains surplus conference materials such as - satchels, writing pads, pens, sun hats, Tshirts etc - obtained by the International Committee through a joint project with the National Convention Centre (NCC). for distribution to children in the underprivileged area of Siaya in Kenya.

At the meeting on 3 May Ms Cindy Young, Manager of the NCC meet with Pauline of Kids in Kenya.

Thanks so much Cindy and Michele Witters of Canberra Rotary for your fantastic contribution to Kids in Kenya project.
